JUST IN: Major Setback for Sen. Edwin Sifuna as Tribunal Dismisses Urgent Application
Senator Edwin Sifuna has suffered a significant legal setback after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) dismissed an application he had filed under a certificate of urgency seeking leave to cross-examine ODM’s affiant in the ongoing party dispute.
The ruling clears the way for the Tribunal to proceed with hearing the substantive matter, in which Sifuna is seeking orders to stop the Party’s Internal Dispute Resolution Mechanism (IDRM) from hearing and determining the dispute stemming from his suspension by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The decision is viewed as an early procedural victory for ODM, as the Tribunal declined to grant the orders sought by the Nairobi Senator before delving into the merits of the case.
