Ohangla Music Fraternity Thrown Into Mourning as Tony Ndiema Dies
The Kenyan music industry has been plunged into mourning following the death of celebrated Ohangla singer Tony Ndiema, who passed away while undergoing treatment at Oasis Hospital in Kisii after his health reportedly deteriorated. His death comes just days after family, friends and fans appealed for prayers as he battled a serious illness.

Tony Ndiema was one of the fast-rising stars in the Ohangla genre, earning admiration for his energetic performances, rich Luo rhythms and contemporary style that appealed to both young and older audiences. His music, known for blending traditional Ohangla beats with modern instrumentation, helped grow the genre's popularity beyond its traditional fan base.

Although raised in Western Kenya, Ndiema had previously shared that his roots trace back to Saboti in Trans Nzoia County. Before pursuing music professionally, he once dreamed of becoming an architect, but eventually followed his passion for entertainment and built a name for himself in Kenya's vibrant Ohangla scene.
