KISUMU: A new twist has emerged in the lead-up to the anticipated June 25, 2026 demonstrations after a section of Kisumu residents took to the streets on Tuesday afternoon, urging organizers to call off the planned protests.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans advocating for peace and stability, the residents said they feared the demonstrations could disrupt businesses, interfere with daily activities, and expose innocent citizens to possible unrest. The march attracted traders, boda boda operators, and other community members who argued that the city cannot afford another day of economic paralysis.
